Stag meets hunter

One of the most evocative album back covers for me, just hear those light dappled leaves whispering as the centre remains inexplicably still...

I bought this when I was 17...and I love it dearly still. I ordered it from our local record shop, knowing that it would take about a week to arrive, so I worked part-time that week as part of a local council traffic census, and on the saturday had a pay-packet just big enough to pay me mum some keep, buy that Duul LP and buy a couple pints up the pub. Still got the same copy...much loved; much played.

Great story and what a classic album, unfortunately mine was a second hand purchased some time back now. I just love to stare at this back cover while listening – enveloped in the magick.

The gloriously messy ‘Psychedelic Underground’ was my introduction to Duul having heard it was the main inspiration for Mr Stapleton to create music and I’ve been a fan ever since although ‘Hijack’ is really quite bad (in that overtly 70’s progressive rock sorta way)

Yep, an image to linger in the memory (i've had my copy since the dark old days of 1984 - NOT a very psych/prog-friendly era in my region). It's a strange mix of Pagan Germanic totem and Edward Kienholz-style tableau. Very apt. Those strange watery dreamy multi-layered images (By Falk Rogner?) fit well with the sound, esp those eerie organ chords...LSD slipping back through time into the water-supply of Rudolf II's Prague?
