I'm proud that the first release on my new DIY mirco-imprint Autostatic should be a tribute to the unique individual that was Joey Chainsaw...
It's been percolating for a while, a personal attempt to fill the vacuum of his passing with something tangible, prompted by a combination of weird coincidences, and borne of the invaluable collaborations with Jewelly (his sister). You could say 'Night Sky Eye' evolved slowly, piece by piece, without any preconceptions, borne from the darkness; for the 'night sky' that often filled his eye... A farewell fanfare for a much remembered and missed friend in jaded idyllics and salty static, with all profits going towards making Joe's dream of releasing something (of his) on vinyl a reality...
This 58 minute disc is lushly packaged in fold around full colour arts from Jewelly and myself, enclosed with a leaf skeleton and one of the last snapshots i took that inspired the albums latter melodies... Listen with love...
