Opéra Mort - Le Tour De L'Oubli

The hi-energy beats of the opener take you by surprise, then the lazer stabbed centre spawns a hag vox, a scary cob-webbed void, pure pensioner hex, giving you the willies and bleached-skull greyness…From this point on, you know this disc is gonna be blessed with a satisfaction guarantee…

Suitably backed in a nest of vipers, all sibilant churn and chopped repetition, this evil-eye knitted sway of lupin sickness bristles like a heavy Auerbach canvas, full of gooey goodness and snarling cyber-animal, a perfect sieve for that rotten cherub overspill and drunken psychosis to slip through.

For the most part, the track’s leak a Mario Bava waxiness and blackened menace, the vox like a Jonas Brothers belch of half chewed wasp and fizzy soda – an inverted Disney, where smiles are biro-ed out or gleefully misshapen…

El-g and Jo Tanz make an impressive duo…with J. Laux of Slicing Grandad and Tazartes lending a hand on a few tracks…The first, a wolf breathe entangled circuit horror, the other, Algerian furr-balls disintegrating on drained batteries, there’s even a brief homage to 80’s synth-phonics…but most of all, this album leaves you hungry for more…

The highest of recommendations…
